[BUNJANG] Unsigned Buncheong Ware "Bandumbeong" Guiyal-Pattern Tea Bowl (Dawan) / 골동품 도자기 작가미상 분청사기 반덤벙 귀얄문 다완

A Buncheong ware tea bowl with a "bandumbeong" (partially slip-decorated) and "guiyal" (brush-stroked) pattern.

Acquired approximately ten years ago from a private collector's home, this tea bowl is said to have been purchased from a renowned Korean ceramicist. While the seller was told this at the time of purchase, the artist's name has been forgotten. If you happen to know the artist, we encourage you to acquire this piece.

Previously, a similar work by the same artist was sold to a dealer in Insadong.

This tea bowl bears a strong resemblance to those exported to Japan during the mid-Joseon Dynasty. It features an oxidized firing, resulting in a luteous color, and is decorated with white slip on the lower half, employing the "guiyal" technique on the inside.

A notable feature of this tea bowl is its understated "plum-skin" crackling, which appears naturally, adding to its aesthetic appeal, much like the crackling seen in Ido tea bowls.

The bowl shows signs of use by tea practitioners, with the tea's essence having seeped into the glaze, imparting a sense of aged beauty and character.

Regardless of the artist, this is an exceptionally well-crafted tea bowl. If you happen to know the artist, we believe this offers an excellent opportunity for acquisition at a favorable price.

The glaze also exhibits features reminiscent of the cross-shaped patterns found in Joseon pottery.

10년 전쯤 어느 소장가의 댁내에서 구입한 분청사기 반덤벙 귀얄문 다완입니다.
당시 소장가분에게 국내의 유명도예가로부터 구입했다고 들었지만 누구인지 잊어버려 아시는 분께서 구입하셨으면 합니다.
몇개월전 같은 작가의 작품을 올린적인 있는데 인사동의 한 업자께서 구입하셨습니다.
본다완은 조선중기 일본으로 수출했던 다완과 많이 닮아있습니다,
산화소성되어 비파색을 띠며 백토로 반만 분장하여 안으로 귀얄기법을 활용했습니다.
무엇보다 이다완의 장점은 과하지 않는 매화피입니다.
이도다완에서 보이는 매화피가 아주 자연스럽게 생성되어 멋을 더합니다.
실제 다인이 실사용하여 차심이 잘 스며들어 있으며 고태미가 흐릅니다.
사실 이정도의 다완은 작가를 떠나 너무 잘 만들어졌으며 혹시 작가를 아시는 분께선 저렴히 구매하셨으면 합니다.
도결이 조선도자의 十자 문양과도 많이 닮아있습니다.
상태는 양호합니다.
