Renowned for his meticulous research and revival of Joseon Dynasty pottery techniques, particularly in white porcelain, Andong-oh was designated as a Living National Treasure of Ceramics (Gyeonggi Province Intangible Cultural Property No. 5).

Andong-oh was a pivotal figure in modern Korean ceramics, dedicating his life to the study and re-creation of traditional Korean pottery. His work is characterized by the mastery of various Joseon white porcelain techniques, including cobalt blue (cheonghwa), copper red (chinsa), iron brown (cheolhwa), and openwork (tugak), alongside his signature relief work (yanggak). His contributions earned him significant recognition and the esteemed title of Gyeonggi Province Intangible Cultural Property No. 5.
