This cross is meticulously created using the Cloisonné technique. Metal partitions are individually set, followed by the application of vitreous enamel into each space, which is then fired at high temperatures multiple times. This labor-intensive process requires significant time to complete and its high production difficulty meant it was primarily used for high-end decorative items and religious artifacts during that era. Its colorfast nature ensures that even after more than a century, it retains its profound and vivid beauty.

A small Bénitier (Holy Water Font) is attached below to hold holy water, reflecting the French domestic faith culture of using it for blessings before prayer.

The back is engraved with a date, July 3, 1898, and a name, suggesting it was presented as a commemorative religious item.

차분한 그린 오닉스 위에는 깊은 색감의 에나멜 십자가가 올려져 있습니다.

이 십자가는 금속 칸막이를 하나하나 세운 뒤 각각의 공간에 유리질 에나멜을 채워 고온에서 여러 차례 구워 완성하는 끌루아조네(Cloisonné) 기법으로 제작되었습니다.

손이 많이 가는 작업인 만큼 완성까지 긴 시간이 필요했고, 제작 난도가 높아 당시에도 고급 장식품과 성물에 주로 사용되었습니다. 색이 쉽게 바래지 않아 100년이 넘은 지금도 깊고 선명한 아름다움을 간직하고 있습니다.

아래에는 성수를 담는 작은 베니티에(Bénitier, Holy Water Font) 가 함께 달려 있어, 집 안에서 기도하기 전 손끝에 성수를 찍어 십자성호를 긋던 프랑스 가정의 신앙 문화를 보여줍니다.
