Initially mistaken for an inkstone, closer examination revealed its true purpose as a lidded container for small items or a desk accessory box.

The box features a detailed tortoise head with three-dimensional eyes, nose, and mouth, conveying a sense of vitality. The most striking feature is the intricate tortoise shell pattern (龜甲文) covering the lid, composed of tightly arranged hexagonal motifs. The edge of the lid is adorned with a soft, curved wave pattern, creating a harmonious blend of geometric and flowing designs.

The lid is fully detachable, revealing a shallow compartment inside for storing small articles such as ink pads, seals, incense, or jewelry. 전체적인 형태는 거북의 머리와 몸체, 분리되는 등껍질형 뚜껑으로 구성되어 있습니다. 앞으로 길게 돌출된 머리에는 눈·코·입이 입체적으로 표현되어 있으며, 작은 크기임에도 거북의 얼굴에서 힘과 생동감이 느껴집니다.
