A magnificent large vase by Bonghak Ahn Byung-ryun, a master of Korean ceramic art from the first generation of modern potters.

This piece showcases Ahn Byung-ryun's renowned skill, who gained fame in Korea and Japan from the 1960s onwards. The vase measures a substantial 22.5cm in width and 27cm in height, boasting a voluminous and impressive presence.

Crafted using an exquisite double-layered technique, the outer layer features intricate openwork (투각), where the latticework is meticulously carved. The neck of the vase is adorned with inlaid cloud and crane motifs (운학문), a classic symbol of celadon, complemented by traditional animal-shaped handles on either side.
