"RISKY" was released during the B'z LIVE-GYM '90-'91 "RISKY" tour. The title itself conveys the meaning of 'risking something to gain it.' The album is noted for its harder sound compared to previous works, partly due to the involvement of Jason Corsaro, who mixed and mastered albums for artists like Madonna and Stevie Nicks. This album is considered the last to extensively feature the dance beat style prominent in B'z's early 90s work.

B'z 첫 싱글이자 동시 발매가 아닌 단독 앨범 작품!!
1990년 10월 4일부터 이듬해 2월10일까지 앨범 투어 'B'z LIVE-GYM'90-'91"RISKY"가 진행되어 그 와중에 발매되었다.
앨범 타이틀 'RISKY'에는 '위험 (리스크)을 무릅쓰고 '어떤 것'을 손에 넣는다'는 의미가 담겨 있다. 마츠모토 타카히로는 「좋은 의미로 기대를 저버리지 않으면 안 된다」라고 코멘트했다.
하드락 사운드와 디지털 비트의 융합을 시도한 앨범 90년대 초의 B'z는 박음질을 많이 한 댄스 비트 노선이 주류였지만, 이 작품이 이 노선으로서는 현시점에서 마지막 앨범.
믹스와 마스터링에 마돈나와 스티비 사라스를 다룬 제이슨 코살로를 기용하고 있어 과거 작품보다 사운드가 하드 하다.
앞, 뒤 재킷의 "B'z" 로고 마크는 선행 싱글 "Easy Come, Easy Go!"와 "사랑스러운 사람이여 Good Night..."로 사용된 것. "RISKY" 로고도 이번 "B'z" 로고와 전체적으로 디자인되어 "RISKY" 로고 상단의 오목한 부분에 "B'z" 마크를 배치할 수 있도록 되어 있다.
초회판만 북클릿 (사진집), 북클릿과 CD케이스를 넣는 플라스틱제 슬리브 케이스사양.
레이블 면은 보라색과 하늘색 두 종류가 있다. 또, 북클릿은 종이질이 다른 것이, 적어도 4종 존재하는 것이 판명되어 있다.
