[BUNJANG] Celadon Pig-Shaped Vessel / 청자돈형용기

A masterful representation of East Asian zoomorphic celadon pottery, this piece humorously yet artistically depicts a wild boar (pig).

It showcases the distinctive greenish-gray glaze characteristic of early celadon, uniformly applied across the entire surface.

The vessel comes alive with its elongated snout, charmingly crafted ears, rounded body, short legs, and simplified hindquarters with a tail.

A rectangular opening on the back suggests its use as a container for liquids or other items.

Observations of the belly, legs, and interior reveal a sandy clay body with a yellowish-brown hue. Firing marks on the legs indicate it was likely fired resting on its base.

While precise dating is challenging, it is believed to have been created as a burial item, possibly from the Han Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty.

Dimensions: Approximately 15 cm in height and 20.5 cm in body length. The piece is in complete condition.

멧돼지(돼지)를 해학적이면서도 조형미 있게 표현한
동아시아 상형청자의 특징을 잘 보여주는 기물로,
원시 청자(초기 청자) 특유의 회록색 유약이 전면에
시유된 작품입니다.
길쭉하게 뻗은 주둥이와 앙증맞게 빚어 붙인 귀,
둥근 몸통에 짧은 다리, 단순화한 엉덩이에 드리워진
꼬리 표현이 생동감을 주고 있습니다.
등 부분에는 사각형의 넓은 구멍이 뚫려 있어
액체를 담거나 물건을 넣는 용기로 제작되었음을
알 수 있습니다.
또한 배와 네 다리, 그리고 내부의 노태 상태를 보면,
태체는 황토색의 사질토임과
다리 부분을 바닥에 대고 소성했음을 짐작할 수 있습니다.
제작시기를 특정하기는 어렵고, 한대로부터 명대에 이르기까지
부장품으로 제작된 기물이 아닐까 생각합니다.
크기는 높이 약 15, 몸길이 20.5cm이고
