랜디 마이스너의 탈퇴 후 오랜 기간 포코에서 활동을 하던 티모시 슈미트를 새로 맞이한 밴드가 3년만에 발표한 앨범은 이들의 마지막 작품으로 기록된다. 이 앨범은 단숨에 차트 1위에 올랐고 밀리언셀러를 기록하는 등 커다란 반향을 일으켰지만, 여러 멋진 히트 싱글들에도 불구하고 전체적으로 많은 취약점을 드러내고 있다. 미국 차트 1위에 오른, 조 월시의 멋진 슬라이드 기타 연주가 포함된 ‘Heartache Tonight'이나 8위에 오른 ’The Long Run', 역시 8위를 기록한 티모시 슈미트의 섬세한 보컬이 돋보이는 발라드 ‘I Can't Tell You Why' 등의 히트곡들과 우리나라에서 특히 많은 사랑을 받았던, 데이빗 샌본(David Sanborn)이 참여하여 색소폰 연주를 들려주는 발라드 ’The Sad Cafe'와 같은 곡은 훌륭한 작품들이긴 하지만, 문제는 그 외의 곡들에 있다. 도대체 ‘The Disco Strangler'나 ’King Of Hollywood', ’Those Shoes', 'Teenage Jail'과 같은 곡들을 듣고 있으면 절로 이런 말이 튀어나온다. “도대체 뭘 하자는 거야?” 3년이라는 기간 동안 그들은 정체성을 완전히 잃어버린 것일까? 놀라운 것은 이 앨범이 원래 더블 앨범으로 기획되었다는 것이다. 두 장 짜리에 집어넣으려고 했던, 그래서 여기에는 빠진 곡들의 수준은 도대체 어떠했을까, 하는 의문이 생긴다. 돈 헨리는 후에 이 앨범에 대해 이런 말을 했다. “앨범 작업을 하는 데 너무 많은 시간을 보냈어요. 우리에게 정말로 필요했던 건 롤링 스톤스(Rolling Stones)의 초기 앨범들을 들으며 완벽을 위해 애쓰는 이 모든 게 완전히 불필요하다는 걸 깨닫는 거였죠.” 어쨌거나 앨범은 미국에서 8주간 차트 1위에 머물렀고 영국에서도 4위를 기록했다.
