[BUNJANG] Hagi Ware 'Shōsei' Matcha Tea Bowl by Keisen Ōtani with Calligraphy by Keidō Yoshida / 일본 하기야키 말차 다완 대덕사 서부 화압 공목함

This is a matcha tea bowl crafted by acclaimed Hagi ware potter Keisen Ōtani. The glaze features a delicate interplay of light pink and beige hues, adorned with densely scattered kanippu (inclusions) that create a unique texture. The rough clay and glaze flow remain naturally around the foot of the bowl.

Bearing the artist's seal '桂仙' (Keisen) on the base, this tea bowl is presented in its original wooden box. The box is inscribed with calligraphy and a poem by Keidō Yoshida, former chief priest of Zuikō-in, a sub-temple of Daitoku-ji. The artwork itself is named '松清' (Shōsei).

This is a formal tea utensil, elevated by the naming and inscription from a prominent Buddhist monk, enhancing the piece created by the artist.

The fine crackle pattern across the surface, formed by kanippu within the glaze, showcases the deep and natural aesthetic characteristic of Hagi ware. The foot is finished with a rough texture, highlighting the natural feel of the clay and firing marks.

This set includes the original wooden box and a Sanada himo cord.

As a vintage tea utensil, the wooden box and tea bowl show signs of age and use. Kanippu, glaze pooling, and flow are visible across the surface, along with rough firing marks on the foot. While kanippu is a characteristic of Hagi ware, please examine the photos carefully as the presence of actual cracks or leaks has not been tested.

일본 하기야키 도예가 오타니 게이센이 제작한 말차 다완입니다. 옅은 분홍빛과 베이지빛이 감도는 유약 위로 촘촘한 관입이 펼쳐져 있으며, 굽 주변에는 거친 태토와 유약의 흐름이 자연스럽게 남아 있습니다.

다완의 바닥에는 작가의 ‘桂仙’ 도장이 확인됩니다. 전용 목함에는 대덕사 탑두 즈이호인 전 주지 요시다 게이도의 서부와 화압이 남아 있으며, 작품에는 ‘松清’이라는 이름이 붙어 있습니다. 작가 제작 다완에 선승의 명명과 서부가 더해진 정식 차도구입니다.

표면 전반의 촘촘한 균열무늬는 유약층에 형성된 관입으로, 하기야키 특유의 깊고 자연스러운 표정을 보여줍니다. 굽은 흙의 질감과 소성 흔적을 살린 거친 형태로 마감되었습니다. 전용 목함과 사나다히모가 함께 구성됩니다.


빈티지 차도구로 목함과 다완에 보관 및 사용에 따른 흔적이 있습니다. 표면 전반에 관입과 유약의 뭉침·흐름, 굽 부분의 거친 소성 흔적이 확인됩니다. 관입은 하기야키의 특성이지만, 실제 균열이나 누수 여부는 별도의 물 테스트를 진행하지 않았으므로 사진을 충분히 확인해 주세요.
