[BUNJANG] Joseon Dynasty Dongmongseonseup First Children's Textbook by Song Si-yeol /
This edition is a single, standalone volume, larger than other editions, and is neatly handwritten.
Compiled by the Joseon-era scholar Park Se-mu as a Seodang (village school) textbook, it served as the curriculum after completing the 'Cheonjamun' (Thousand Character Classic).
While the original edition from before the Imjin War is lost, a revised edition from 1795 has been passed down.
The content concisely describes the five cardinal virtues and includes sections on China and Korea. It uses simple language and phrasing to aid children's learning and cultivate virtuous conduct.
The inscription by Song Si-yeol, as shown in the 8th image, is the preface.
The condition includes a repair to the front cover. There are age-related stains and folds, but the book is in good condition with no missing pages.
Dimensions: 34.5 x 24.5 cm.
