오래전 우리 민가에서 떡의 표면에 아름다운 무늬를 찍을 때 사용하던 전통 목제 떡살입니다.

지름 약 7cm, 높이 약 6cm, 무게 약 117g으로 크기에 비해 묵직합니다. 단단하고 치밀한 목재 한 덩어리를 깎아 몸체와 손잡이를 만들고, 찍는 면에는 국화꽃을 연상시키는 방사형 꽃문양을 손으로 정성스럽게 새겼습니다.

문양의 깊이와 선이 조금씩 달라 현대 기계제품에서는 느끼기 어려운 옛 수공예품 특유의 소박한 손맛이 살아 있습니다. 표면에 깊게 밴 짙은 고색과 둥글게 닳은 모서리, 문양의 자연스러운 마모에서 오랜 세월 실제로 사용하고 보관한 흔적을 확인할 수 있습니다.
