[BUNJANG] Qinghai Jade Bi Xie Seal / 청해옥 /곤륜옥옥인
Qinghai Jade, a type of nephrite jade found in the Kunlun Mountains of Qinghai Province, China, shares similar chemical and mineralogical properties with Hetian Jade. It is known for its diverse color palette, including white, blue-white, grayish-green, and emerald green (Cui Jade).
Compared to Hetian Jade, Qinghai Jade often exhibits higher transparency, a stronger luster, and a slightly translucent texture. Qinghai Jade with faint green or emerald veins and spots, known as Qinghai Cui Jade, is highly valued for its unique beauty.
Notably, Qinghai Jade from the Gechengwu region was used for the jade inserts on the back of the medals for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

청해옥(靑海玉)은 중국 청해성(靑海省) 격얼무 지역의 곤륜산맥 일대에서 산출되는 연옥(軟玉)의 일종으로 흔히 곤륜옥(崑崙玉)이라고도 불리며
화전옥(和田玉)과 화학적·광물학적 조성은 거의 동일하지만
일반적으로 흰색(백옥), 청백색, 녹회색, 에메랄드색(취옥) 등 다양한 색상을 띱니다
신장 화전옥에 비해 투명도가 높고
광택이 강하며 내부가 약간 투명하게 비치는 질감을 가집니다
청해옥 중에서도 옅은 녹색/에메랄드빛 줄기나 반점이 들어간 청해취옥(靑海翠玉) 은 고유의 아름다움으로 가치를 아주 높게 평가받습니다
2008년 베이징 올림픽 메달 뒷면에 사용된 옥이 바로 청해성 격얼무에서 산출된 청해옥(곤륜옥)입니다.
