■ 음반 설명

임재범 4집 LP 발매!

임재범의 이번 앨범의 제목은 'Story of Two Years'이다. 제목에서 알 수 있듯이 그는 2년만에 돌아왔다. 그러나 역시 그만의 카리스마를 발산하는 목소리는 변하지 않았다. 단지 전보다 부드러워진 목소리에 중저음이 훨씬 풍성해져 그만의 매력을 더 느낄 수 있다. 이는 시간의 흐름과 음악적 방황으로 깊어진 그의 내면의 투영이 반영된 것으로 보인다.

4집의 타이틀곡은 '너를 위해' 인데 누구나 한번쯤은 겪어봤음직한 감각적인 가사와 작곡가 신재홍의 아름다운 멜로디 라인이 임재범의 가창력과 어울리는 곡이다. 이 곡은 유지태, 김하늘 주연의 영화 <동감>의 주제곡으로 사용되어 높은 인기를 끌었다.

'너를 위해'와 '거인의 잠'은 그가 중년에 접어들었는데도 여전히 가슴앓이하며 방황하는 이유를 설명하려는 듯하다. 이들 노래의 가사는 세상의 틀이 싫어 자기만의 틀을 만들어가는 자신의 이야기이다.
